Check Your Trees Before Winter

black-and-white-branches-tree-highTACOMA – Back to school time is also a great time to check your trees for winter readiness. Before winter storms and rain hit, it’s the perfect time to assess their stability. Winter rains can undermine a tree that’s not stable, and storms can easily bring down damaged or diseased trees. Downed trees are something our homes, cars, and yards can do without.

And with our Canadian neighbors celebrating National Tree Day this September, now is a great time to check those trees so they’ll thrive through the winter.  Like any tree job, it’s best to have a skilled person, preferably International Society of Arboriculture (ISA)-qualified, complete the assessment. Skilled arborists have the specialized training and skills to manage any trouble trees on your property.

So while you’re cleaning out gutters, weatherproofing your house, and prepping for the coming months, don’t neglect the potential damage and expense that downed trees may bring.

“Getting trees checked before extreme weather may prevent some unwelcome surprises this winter,” said Jay Brock and Johnny Marth, Family Tree Care owners (Tacoma) and certified arborists. “We can assess the trees surrounding your property to make sure you’re safe through the rough weather.” Family Tree Care is uniquely qualified to assess hazardous trees; Jay and Johnny are also both ISA Qualified Tree Risk Assessors.

FTC specializes in tree removal and clean up, repairing storm damage, pruning, beautification, and disease treatment. As ISA certified arborists, they offer a unique skill set. They are respectful of your trees and will save a tree rather than take it down, if possible. If they can’t save a tree that needs to come down, they will prep it for firewood for the winter.

Family Tree Care serves the greater Tacoma, Lakewood and Puyallup areas and are bonded, licensed, and insured. They are known for the quality, speed, and professionalism of their tree services. Family Tree Care’s prices are competitive and their staff is skilled.
