Tree Pruning & Trimming in Tacoma, WA

Q: Can improper pruning actually harm a tree?

Yes, incorrect technique or timing can damage a tree's long-term health or create entry points for disease, which is why certified arborist expertise matters.

Q: Does pruning help prevent storm damage?

Yes, removing weak or unstable branches through regular pruning can reduce the risk of damage during Tacoma's windstorms.

Q: Do you offer both residential and commercial tree pruning?

Yes, we provide tree pruning and trimming services for both residential and commercial properties.

Regular pruning does more than improve a tree’s appearance — it directly supports health and safety by removing weak or diseased branches before they become a hazard. Family Tree Care provides expert tree pruning and trimming for Tacoma properties.

Why Proper Pruning Technique Actually Matters

Improper pruning can actually damage a tree’s long-term health, encourage disease entry points, or create unnatural growth patterns — certified arborists know the correct technique and timing for each specific tree species.

What Our Pruning Service Includes

Our tree pruning and trimming service typically covers:

Seasonal pruning timed to each tree’s specific needs

Preventing Costly Emergency Services Down the Road

Regular pruning is one of the most effective ways to catch developing issues early, helping you avoid the more costly emergency tree services that come from a neglected, overgrown tree.

We have used Family Tree for a few years and are always very pleased with their work. They are always willing to think with me about how best to take care of our trees and especially to shape them to fit our small yard. The trees that they trim beautifully shaped and open. They are also responsive, friendly, and courteous. We will continue to use them. Highly recommend.

We just had 4 trees trimmed today--thanks and kudos to Nolan and his crew for the hard work they did. Twice, he had me take a look at the trees to make sure I'm satisfied with the result. There were a lot of leaves, twigs and branches all over but they did a superb job leaving our yard cleaner than when they started. Thanks also to Jay, who's an arborist, and Rich for being so responsive to my questions before we had the project started. Highly recommended and will definitely call them again next time. These guys are topnotch!

The guys showed up on time, worked hard, very timely & did a great job of cleaning up after themselves! Highly recommended.

These guys are everything - Young, professional, thorough and affordable! Not only did they give us an estimate on what it would cost to trim and remove trees on our property, they educated us on the weaknesses they saw and how their services would benefit the overall health of the trees. Great team of people!

I already wrote a lengthy post on their wall about what these guys did for us, but had to give a 5 star review as well...Family Tree Care did an amazing job, were extremely hard working, & left our yard looking great! Highly recommend!
